So how far did you walk yesterday?

I've been doing some measuring these past few weeks, it's not helped my figure at all, but I'm figuring anyway: On a good day (I'm not exhausted or ill) I walk nearly 10,000 steps. If I put forth a little effort, I make it to 11k. However if you go to an amusement park, you can in just a few hours, top 14k.

Yesterday we spent the day at Wild Adventures in Valdosta. Between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. we clocked over 14k steps which is equivalent to nearly 7 miles. WOW. I never knew. Our kids rode their first roller coaster rides in their lives. L wanted to go again - now that he realized he doesn't get motion sickness. M decided he liked his the best - who can argue? The best is the best! L doesn't do dizzy - at all. I think that one ride cured him of the desire to ride anything fast. We'll see what he does next summer! MM was the designated baby sitter as he gets tired of waiting in line. I can't wait to go next time with my DSIL when it's not so crowded!

I've been thinking about taking my first trip to Wild Aventures. They are advertising the Phobia Halloween theme pretty heavily. Would my 5 and 2 year olds be scared of anything they might see just wandering around the park or is the Phobia theme restricted to special areas that we could just avoid?

I'm sorry you weren't able to make it Thursday. We had a great time and the grits were amazing.

Wild Adventures was crowded? I guess I've only been there on days when there were only a few.

Sounds like a great time. WA is the best kept secret around these parts! Its a lot of fun. Glad to hear your crew liked it!

I'll go with you, if you go before the end of the year when our passes expire.

My kids didn't notice the stuff - except my 11 yo. But he doesn't enjoy that stuff either. We were there during the day and the haunted house started at 6 p.m. so until then, we were fine. I've heard scary stuff about the halloween parade that some youngsters got caught in.

I'll have to settle for the blogs about it - go ahead, rub it in. I'm sorry I couldn't be there either.

Not crowded - I don't think. It is fun. The lines were about 20-30 minutes. The kids did enjoy it. I want to go back, soon - so yes Laura, when? But I want to get there early in the a.m.

So we don't have any roller coasters here in Uganda but just getting to the house on the mud road after it has rained can be quite the "wild adventure". Thanks for the call was great to talk to you.
